Ashish, I may have posted twice (as Vince), as the first one did not appear. I also do not want to have my email made public, so please post the anonymous based post.
My name is Yen-Ting Lu. I am a college student in the Scottsdale Community College, Arizona, United States.
This semester, I am taking an advance Visual Basic.net 2005 course. I need to do one honor project for this class. I did some research on the Internet, and I found an interesting project which related to a webcam motion detector.
Could I rewrite your sample program (http://www.codeproject.com/useritems/lasergesture.asp) to VB.net, and do some modification in objects in order to demonstrate this honor project?
well ashish after some serious search i managed to found some good stuff to attach webcam.its called robocam. it uses stepper motors and a PIC to work.all we need is face recognition software to work.then the whole project will be amazing
Hi. I really like this idea. I have downloaded the files from Codeproject. But i cant get it to work. I would very much appreciate it if you could help me get it working. If you have some extra time to help me out plzz email me at oaky8@earthlink.net thanks.
Hey Ashish, i'm radek from Poland. I was wondering how did You come up with your formula for the brightest point in this recognition project and is it possible to instead modify this to recognize the red point on some surface ? If it is could you help find the formula for it? Cause when i want to recognize the brightest point in some not dark places the program starts to freak and do nothing or recognize wrong gestures. BTH cool project :)

thank you very much :)
Ashish,
Fantastic article and innovation on the lasers reco.
You could use this for multiple applications.
Blind people could use this to control appliances, computers, etc.
Do consider patenting the idea.
The use of shapes, gestures, and multi-colored lasers make this a very good enabler.
Vince.
